MySono.com's history dates back to 1999, when the idea of notebook-style portable ultrasound system and its online sales was born. It began as a special project in MEDISON. Co., Ltd in Korea. Code-named "Tetra", meaning the ordinal number four, this new project was initiated to develop a light-weight hand-held ultrasound system.

There were some portable ultrasound systems in the market at that time, but when it comes to true small and compact hand-held equipment, it was so rare as it is today. Series of traditional ultrasound systems released by not a few manufacturing companies are just big and space-consuming. Moreover, no matter which market, high-end or low-end, they are targeting, their prices are often the first thing that most of the consumers got to consider when they decide to purchase ultrasound equipment.

Therefore conceiving a brand-new compact ultrasound system was a splendid opportunity and an irresistible challenge at the same time. The first prototype of that kind got out of the lab in the autumn of 1999 and was called "MySono101" as the first brand product of MySono series. Small and light, digitally equipped, it was what can be the very ultrasound system of the new era that customers have wanted to see so long.

With continuous development and revision, at last in March 2000, MySono201 came out. Like its shape and function it promises to be the first notebook-style ultrasound diagnostic equipment with full digital function. As being sold on the Internet, it also promises that every doctor and clinician can get it at the very affordable price that nobody would ever have thought of. Since November 2000, MySono201 got commercially available.
